0:00 · The conversation travels with Lia

Lia is crossing the city while talking to Davi. Along the way, one tower's signal weakens and another grows stronger. In this proposed mobility architecture, the device itself guides the change of access.

0:15 · Prepare the next access

Before leaving the first tower, the device prepares access through the second. A stronger signal is a reason to try. Authorization and an available path allow it to start using that access.

0:30 · The same data over two paths

During the transition, PRP can carry the same data over two authorized paths. The redundancy is deliberate: one copy can arrive even when the other encounters a failure along the way.

0:44 · Receive once

At the destination, the copies are recognized as the same data. The duplicate is discarded before becoming a second delivery to the application. The paths change, but the communication remains bound to the same participants.

1:00 · Complete the handover

When the new path is ready to support the communication, the device leaves the previous one. In this architecture without a mobile core, the handover decision belongs to the client. The relationship with Davi remains.

1:15 · Use redundancy when it helps

Using two paths consumes more resources. Redundancy can therefore be limited to the transition. Its protection depends on alternatives that remain available when one path fails.

1:29 · The relationship remains

Prepare the next path before leaving the previous one. Mobility with continuity built around the relationship. PRP.

0:00 · The conversation travels with Lia

Lia, a grey-haired woman wearing round glasses and an ochre coat, holds a phone while seated in a tram. Consecutive left windows reveal different stretches of the riverbank moving right; right windows show a park moving left; rear windows show tracks receding in depth. Davi, a curly-haired man in a green shirt, appears behind a laptop in a studio. Closeups dissolve into a split screen. The actors blink and gesture. A label reads: A proposed mobility architecture.

0:15 · Prepare the next access

A diagram places Lia at left and Davi at right. Amber access A runs above teal access B, through aggregators labeled RA, RA2, RB and RB2. Bars show A's signal decreasing and B's increasing. B begins dashed and becomes solid when labeled authorized and available. Data initially travels through A. The participants retain their positions.

0:30 · The same data over two paths

Numbered data symbols travel from Lia to Davi along both authorized paths. Copies of the same item keep the same number, including 42 and 43; amber and teal distinguish the paths. A caption explains that the number identifies the data and color identifies the path.

0:44 · Receive once

Two copies numbered 42 reach Davi's receiver at different times. The first valid copy continues to the application; the later copy fades inside the receiver under Repeat discarded. The network view then shows a cross on A while item 43 reaches Davi through B. Finally, arrows reverse from Davi to Lia for return items beginning with 17; text identifies duplicate removal at Lia.

1:00 · Complete the handover

Path B continues carrying data as path A fades. Lia and Davi remain at the endpoints. The label states that the client completes the transition. The diagram dissolves back to Lia in the moving tram.

1:15 · Use redundancy when it helps

The two paths appear together, with a failure cross on A and data on the available alternative B. A note states that two active accesses use more resources. A fades and B remains; the final note says the overlap ends while the available path remains.

1:29 · The relationship remains

Lia and Davi return in a split screen, making small hand gestures. The moving tram scenery remains visible beside Lia. A dissolve reveals the series closing card: the official PRP logo, More Than One Path and prp-protocol.org on a cream background.

The client-led non-3GPP mobility scenario without a mobile core is a proposal, not a measured handover. It assumes overlapping coverage, simultaneous authorized access and available capacity; redundancy does not protect against failure of every path. Reading-track timings are approximate.
