NDN / NFD — selected stack
NDN packet format v0.3 / NFD 24.07 with direct Ethernet faces and local Unix-socket applications; no IP face, DNS discovery or public testbed enrollment. Known content/key names, local FIB configuration and local trust anchors; ECDSA P-256 Data signatures validated by the consumer. No content-encryption extension, mandatory signed consumer Interests, application sync/group protocol or DTN extension. Data-producer authentication is distinct from live peer authentication. F18 witness: positive-capacity CS with admission/serving enabled, solicited staged cache transfers, bounded contacts before eviction/freshness expiry; no custody or restart durability claim. G01 witness: connected tree of direct Ethernet adjacencies; native multicast v5 strategy at /, root-prefix next hops to every neighbor, and local producer registrations only. Known globally scoped names, no forwarding hints, NLSR, global directory or IP underlay. Interest lifetime/hop budget covers the tree diameter; provision resources for the offered load. This flooding construction establishes reachability, not G05 capacity or efficient routing. D01 binding: NFD 24.07 at a1480a7c947dc6a48ee12c6c0637fc488c0c73a1 on Linux, direct Ethernet faces through libpcap, started with root authority and configured to reduce its effective user/group IDs. The documented privilege reduction is reversible; local Unix-socket applications remain distinct from their forwarder. This source-based finding is not an execution result or a verdict on alternative NDN implementations. F39 bounded request/reply witness: one producer process owns the chosen globally scoped name prefix; use previously unrequested names with no matching cached response and configure the prefix toward that producer. The same name-based exchange reaches a local producer attachment or a remote producer through the selected network. No RPC framework, process migration, exactly-once execution, arbitrary duplex stream or new authentication layer is added.
