Rationale
The pinned Yggdrasil license expressly applies LGPLv3, which incorporates GPLv3 terms. GPLv3 section 11 expressly grants a non-exclusive worldwide royalty-free patent license for each contributor's essential patent claims to make, use, sell, offer for sale, import, run, modify and propagate that contributor version. Essential claims exclude claims infringed only by further modifications. Its static-linking exception changes specified combined-work obligations, not this patent clause. The selected Ironwood dependency also publishes MPL-2.0 section 2.1(b), a contributor patent grant for contributions/contributor versions.
