L02-IP: Yes
Rationale
The pinned gVisor netstack IPv4 and IPv6 source files explicitly carry Apache-2.0 notices attributed to The gVisor Authors. Section 3 of the attached license grants royalty-free patent rights for contributor-controlled claims necessarily infringed by their contributions alone or with the licensed Work. This is a concrete implementation-bound declaration for IP code under the same bounded-holder rule used for PRP and other L02 positives. The evidence is the express patent clause and its attachment to the IP implementations, not simply public code or the absence of IETF disclosures.
Assessment method
Documentary patent-declaration scope review; no runtime or legal clearance
Source context
Pinned public license clauses and source/package attribution, reviewed 2026-10-22
Outstanding qualification
Published grant limited to the Apache-licensed gVisor contributions and Work, with patent-litigation termination and other license conditions. The root file also lists MIT/BSD components; those are not silently assigned the Apache patent grant. No rights are asserted for Linux, BGP/PIM implementations, dependencies, independent reimplementations or other holders. This is not clearance of the complete IP composition or a finding that any patent exists. gVisor is an additional licensing witness, not a substitution for the comparison deployment or evidence of its complete feature set.
