G02-BA: No
Rationale
When a client changes serving mesh node, batman-adv sends a targeted roaming advertisement to its previous node, but also commits the client translation-table change for dissemination in originator messages. BATMAN_IV appends the translation-table container to primary-interface OGMs and forwards eligible received OGMs across the mesh. Other mesh nodes apply changes to their global client tables or request missing table information. Update recipients are therefore not restricted to the old/new attachment region and active communication partners.
Assessment method
Primary documentation and pinned source review; no runtime experiment
Source context
Linux 6.12 batman-adv roaming, translation tables and BATMAN_IV OGMs
Outstanding qualification
This verdict concerns the selected Linux 6.12 BATMAN_IV native Ethernet mesh. Targeted roaming improves immediate forwarding but does not replace mesh-wide table reconciliation. Delta encoding, batching, TTL, duplicate suppression and table requests affect delivery and overhead; No does not mean every frame reaches every node or that a full table is broadcast per move. The C01 same-MAC recovery witness remains Yes. No hierarchical mobility extension, alternative routing algorithm, traffic measurement or scale-failure claim is added.
