F35-IP: Yes
Archived previous-definition assessment — revision 5.73. Retired in 5.82; excluded from the active matrix and counts. This historical verdict is not a current assessment.
Rationale
A bounded deployment introduces BGP interdomain reachability and route-policy selection at routers in place of provisioned static reachability, while attached endpoint protocol implementations and applications remain unchanged. BGP is already part of the selected global IP composition. The PRP-over-IP profile can use that same infrastructure upgrade without changing its existing PRP endpoint software.
Assessment method
Primary specification analysis; architectural capability, no runtime test
Source context
Pinned primary specification; selected-composition architectural assessment
Outstanding qualification
Infrastructure-only routing witness from RFC 4271 and RFC 1812. Routers, peering and route policy require administration; endpoint addressing/default gateways may require ordinary provisioning. For PI this is an underlay benefit, not installation of native PRP on legacy IP endpoints. No promise that every network upgrade is transparent.
