F25-ND: Yes
Archived previous-definition assessment — revision 5.73. Retired in 5.82; excluded from the active matrix and counts. This historical verdict is not a current assessment.
Historical wake-traffic inventory (cutoff retired)
Rationale
Constructive direct-Ethernet/static-FIB witness: retain the provisioned producer key and content name, use a fresh Interest and signed Data with 256 content bytes. Bound each complete Name TLV to 64 bytes. Interest including Nonce, lifetime and hop limit is at most 83 bytes. Data with empty MetaInfo, P-256 DER signature at most 72 bytes and a bounded KeyLocator is at most 477 bytes. Allow another 64 bytes of local-link envelope per packet and 38 Ethernet byte-times per packet: at most 764 total, below 65,536. There is no network session to resume or certificate to fetch in this preprovisioned-key witness.
Assessment method
Constructive plausibility bound; no runtime measurement
Source context
Approved endpoint budget and documentary wire-size accounting
Outstanding qualification
Bounded names and retained trust are explicit witness parameters, not limits of NDN. No NLSR, arbitrary certificate chain, encrypted content or signed Interest is added. Consumer validation remains required. Static face/FIB setup is local; no wire discovery is omitted from this configured face. No runtime measurement.
