Historical wake-traffic inventory (cutoff retired)

Rationale

The selected known-peer IPv4/UDP/QUIC libp2p composition admits a bounded fresh-session witness below 64 KiB. Include mutual TLS Peer ID authentication, two native Identify streams, multistream-select negotiation for those streams and one bidirectional data stream, and 256 useful bytes in each direction. Reserve 42 UDP datagrams up to 1,232 bytes, 40 short ACK-only datagrams and fresh ARP; with IPv4/UDP and Ethernet byte-time overhead the total is 62,444 bytes. The four padded Initial ACK reservations are separate from the short-ACK allowance.

Assessment method

Constructive complete endpoint byte inventory

Source context

Native libp2p QUIC, TLS, Identify and multistream-select specifications

Outstanding qualification

Constructive documentary plausibility, not a runtime measurement or universal libp2p limit. Compact certificate <=2,048 bytes and each Identify response <=1,024 bytes, small configured address/protocol metadata, first protocol accepted, sufficient stream/flow credit, bounded packetization and timely loss-free exchange. Optional services such as DHT, NAT discovery, relay and pubsub are not part of this selected known-peer profile. No resumption, extra connection attempts, migration during exchange or unbounded Identify updates. Peer ID authentication and Identify are included, not silently disabled. TLS suite choice here is a size witness, not a K01 resolution.
