F24-MT: No
Rationale
Meshtastic power saving includes CPU light sleep with the LoRa receiver remaining on; incoming radio traffic wakes the CPU. Local sleep and minimum-wake timers do not arrange a future listening window with senders. The selected CLIENT composition, with store-and-forward disabled, provides no coordinated radio-off reception schedule.
Assessment method
Primary specification and pinned code review; no runtime experiment
Source context
Meshtastic power FSM, cjdns forwarding and batman-adv transmission
Outstanding qualification
CPU sleep is a useful energy-saving mechanism but differs from F24: suspending reception and resuming at known coordinated opportunities. The documented ESP32 behavior is platform-specific; it is not attributed to every board or meshtasticd. Deep sleep or a later reboot also does not supply the missing sender schedule. This source-based verdict does not measure power consumption or deny other power-saving features.
