F10-MT: Yes

Rationale

In the A-B-D / A-C-D hidden-relay witness, B and C each schedule a copy of the same initial no-next-hop packet without waiting for a failed delivery or a retry timeout. Cancellation requires hearing a duplicate; mutually hidden relays need not cancel. This is proactive replication with duplicate suppression, not only post-loss retransmission. It supplies redundant branches in that topology, not a guarantee of disjoint paths for every packet or an explicit user path-selection control.

Assessment method

Read-only code analysis and explicit topology inference

Source context

Pinned Meshtastic firmware: forwarding, authenticated receive and client serialization

Outstanding qualification

Verify both initial forwarding copies precede any retry timeout, preserve packet identity and are deduplicated at D. Test suppression when B and C can hear each other. No guarantee of branch diversity or quantified reliability improvement.
