Rationale

The IRATI tutorial instantiates a normal DIF over an Ethernet VLAN shim and exchanges application data through it. Management uses a local Unix socket. The shown active DIF chain needs no IP carrier; loading an unused TCP/UDP shim module does not make that shim a transport dependency.
