E02-ND: Yes
Rationale
Yue, Peng and Feng, IET Information Security 17(3), 360-376 (2023; first published 28 November 2022), analyze collusive Interest-flooding against pending-Interest state and evaluate attack/detection behavior using ndnSIM 2.5. Their affiliations are Civil Aviation University of China and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences; they declare no conflict of interest. This supplies a published external experimental security assessment of a native forwarding mechanism. NFD 24.07 still inserts PIT entries, tracks incoming/outgoing records and expires or finalizes them; this maps the assessed state boundary to the selected profile.
Assessment method
Bounded published experimental security assessment; source-level applicability check
Source context
External IET security study and NFD 24.07 forwarding source
Outstanding qualification
Credit bounded mechanism analysis, consistent with E02-BA/BL, not a formal proof or complete NFD 24.07 audit. Independence is assessed from disclosed authorship, affiliations and conflicts, not a private relationship investigation. The study proposes its own MF-RF detector: that defense is not part of the selected profile. Colluding consumers/producers and reachable Interests are attack assumptions. No attack success rate, capacity limit, signature failure or detector performance is transferred to the selected Ethernet/multicast-v5 deployment. Its P-256 consumer validation is not assessed. No new simulation ran; E04 and F15 remain unchanged.
