D04-SC: No
Rationale
SCION endpoint addressing combines ISD-AS and an AS-local host address. In the selected SCION/application-UDP profile, those are network attachment and host addressing components, not an independently controlled user identity. AS trust material protects the routing/trust domain and does not turn each ordinary application user into a separately identified communication principal. The column explicitly excludes end-to-end TLS or another identity layer.
Assessment method
Documentary selected-stack classification; no new network execution
Source context
Official API, protocol and configuration documentation; retained origin bytes or explicitly labelled web extractions, 2026-10-15
Outstanding qualification
Creating UDP sockets or selecting paths is not creating a new user identity. Host-address delegation and additional AS credentials do not satisfy the defined boundary. A TLS or application-authentication composition could be assessed separately; none is added here. This No does not deny unprivileged use of an already provisioned SCION endpoint.
