D04-NS: Yes

Rationale

NIP-01 identifies an event author by its public key and validates the corresponding signature. Clients construct and submit signed events over existing WebSocket connections; an additional author key needs no host interface or route change. This author identity is part of the selected NIP-01 stack, not an added JWT or authentication layer.

Assessment method

Documentary API and selected-profile analysis; no new network execution

Source context

Official API/specification and implementation documentation retrieved 2026-10-15; retained source digests

Outstanding qualification

Credit user-controlled signed-event authorship. It does not authenticate the live publishing connection, identify the relay, or require a relay to accept every author. WSS/DNS access and relay policies remain as declared in the profile; no NIP-42 is added and no public event was submitted during this review.
