D02-LT: Yes

Rationale

A concrete userspace AOS/Encapsulation implementation is now identified at CCSDS library commit 3d8098a. Its stated baselines include Encapsulation 133.1-B-3 and AOS 732.0-B-4. EncapsulationPacket implements IPacket and recognizes LTP; AosSenderVirtualChannel dispatches packets into transfer frames, while AosReceiverVirtualChannel and its superclass extract/reassemble encapsulation packets. The TM/TC module exports Java APIs, has no native kernel dependency in its module descriptor, and targets Java 11. On stock Linux with JDK 17, standard AF_UNIX channels can connect a userspace adapter to the already identified HDTN Encapsulation local-stream boundary. Together with the existing userspace BP/BPSec/routing components, these facilities support module-free architectural plausibility.

Assessment method

Conditional module-dependency plausibility; no complete-stack execution

Source context

Pinned AOS/Encapsulation Java source, existing HDTN boundary and JDK local-socket API

Outstanding qualification

Same documentary plausibility level as D02-RI, not a complete executable result. Required glue must preserve full Encapsulation packets and bind AOS virtual-channel/frame parameters in both directions; emitted AOS frames must reach the selected link through an existing stock driver/device interface. The witness assumes such a stock character/serial-device interface, not a new kernel AOS module or an IP/UDP replacement for AOS. Java callbacks are not a ready-made HDTN adapter. Exact BPv7/BPSec/SABR metadata integration, all-red LTP binding, physical-link provider/configuration and end-to-end testing remain unqualified. A configuration whose hardware needs an out-of-tree driver is outside this witness. D01 privileges, D03 specialized hardware, E03 completeness and mission/interoperability qualification remain unchanged. No build or runtime test was performed.
