C08-NS: Yes
Archived previous-definition assessment — revision 4.72. Retired in 5.73; excluded from the active matrix and counts. This historical verdict is not a current assessment.
Rationale
The earlier No inferred required durable history from the presence of author keys in regular events. The pinned relay explicitly supports SQLite in_memory=true. build_pool uses file::memory:?cache=shared, startup sets temp_store=2, and the selected bundled SQLite enables URI filenames. This preserves ordinary event insertion and queries while keeping the database and temporary query state in memory. Select no durable logging, proxy history or host memory persistence on both participating relays. Author keys remain visible in live events, and copies held by clients or other relays are outside this operator-local capability. C08 is Yes for this explicit deployment; it is not a default-retention, anonymity or universal-erasure claim.
Assessment method
Pinned implementation and SQLite documentation review; no relay execution
Source context
nostr-rs-relay SQLite memory option, startup pragmas, logging and bundled SQLite
Outstanding qualification
Exercise signed regular-event publish, subscription and retrieval through the selected WSS proxy and both memory relays; inspect open files and writes, confirm no disk database or temporary spill, then restart and confirm old events are absent until republished. Verify disabled durable log/proxy/export paths and swap/dumps/snapshots. Check actual packaged SQLite URI and temp-store behavior. No protocol test was run.
