C08-LT: Yes

Archived previous-definition assessment — revision 4.72. Retired in 5.73; excluded from the active matrix and counts. This historical verdict is not a current assessment.

Rationale

Documented no-history capability: after all bundle retention constraints end, RFC 9171 section 5.11 permits releasing persistent bundle storage. Select discard-on-completion, disabled status reporting and no traffic archive. Pinned ION bpDestroyBundle removes timeline/hash entries and source, destination, report-to and preceding-hop EID storage once pending-reference constraints clear. LTP RFC 5326 section 6.20 deletes the closed session record and remaining timers. Engine/channel identifiers in LTP/AOS are adjacent-link configuration, not a mandatory completed BP author/destination traffic archive. Provisioned SABR routes/contact plans remain configuration; they are not evidence of which final peers communicated. This is not a claim that default deployments or storage media contain no recoverable traces.

Assessment method

Specification-level capability with bounded BP cleanup source witness; no storage-forensics test

Source context

BPv7 discard semantics, selected convergence-layer lifecycle and pinned ION cleanup path

Outstanding qualification

Verify the exact selected implementation after all copies, retransmissions, retention constraints and duplicate-suppression obligations have completed or expired. Inspect status-report queues, custody/duplicate caches, logs, journals, telemetry and backups; a successful first delivery is not sufficient. No forensic-erasure, default no-logging or legal-retention conclusion is made. SAGA encounter history is not silently selected; any added discovery/history mechanism must be assessed separately. Complete TCPCLv4/TLS or LTP/Encapsulation/AOS integration remains unqualified.
