C06-BA: No
Rationale
The selected batman-adv service encapsulates the attached Ethernet frame in mesh headers. Its original source and destination MAC addresses remain in that frame, which transit observers can inspect because this composition selects no link or end-to-end confidentiality.
Assessment method
Header/encapsulation assessment under revised C06; no traffic capture
Source context
Primary RFCs and pinned protocol/implementation headers
Outstanding qualification
Outer next-hop addresses and mesh-originator selectors do not erase the inner Ethernet address pair. Locally administered MAC addresses avoid a mandatory manufacturer identity, but do not hide the communicating pair. This evaluates the existing unencrypted L2 service; no IP layer, WPA, MACsec or VPN is added.
