Rationale
Linux NET/ROM nr_transmit_buffer writes source_addr and dest_addr into the network header before forwarding. The selected AX.25/NET/ROM composition adds no cryptographic confidentiality, so the final callsign/SSID pair remains observable beyond the immediate link addresses.

Outstanding qualification
Private direct-serial labels need not be public radio callsigns or real-world identities. Nevertheless, their communicating pair is exposed in protocol fields. Changing labels between contexts does not hide the pair within the communication, and the no-IP composition does not remove this association.
