Rationale
Linux 6.12 batadv_recv_icmp_packet dispatches locally addressed diagnostic requests to batadv_recv_my_icmp_packet. The ECHO_REQUEST branch returns ECHO_REPLY when a primary interface and route to the originating mesh node exist. MAC validity, packet-size and route checks are not cryptographic credentials. A reachable participant on the selected unprotected mesh can therefore elicit a recognizable native diagnostic response. This is batman-adv ICMP, not IP ICMP; Internet reachability and guaranteed replies from unknown origins are not claimed.
